March 2019: Michelle followed Matias on Instagram.
April 2019: Matias slid into Michelle’s DMs for the first time (story reply).
August 23, 2019: Michelle and Matias met in person for the first time right before senior year at Ithaca College.
… Also August 23, 2019: Michelle and Matias have their first kiss on the roof of Matias’ house.
December 14, 2019: Matias asked Michelle to be his girlfriend after many drinks at Santa-Con.
December 15, 2019: Michelle made Matias re-ask her (sober). She said yes.
August 2020: Michelle and Matias graduated from Ithaca College together (on Zoom) in Michelle’s living room.
October 2020: Matias moved to North Carolina and their long-distance-relationship began.
March 2021: Michelle and Matias had their brief moment of internet fame when Ring re-shared a video Michelle had posted of cute front door moments between the two of them.
October 2022: Michelle and Matias move in together for the first time! Into an apartment in Rahway, NJ directly above a Cuban restaurant (one with a live DJ every Friday night …)
July 2023: Michelle and Matias moved into their second (and current), much quieter Rahway, NJ apartment not located above a restaurant.
May 2024: Michelle and Matias adopted their first pet, Fika (perfect angel tabby cat).
July 2024: Matias asked Michelle’s parents for their blessing while Michelle was away on vacation with friends.
March 2025: Matias proposed to Michelle in Menton, France during their vacation to the South of France. Matias had told Michelle they should go for a walk out by the water at around 4:00 PM because he had “read online” that that’s when musicians start to play out by the rocks. When they started walking out to the water, Matias began his proposal speech, a photographer started snapping photos, and a violinist began playing some of their favorite love songs. The moment could not have been dreamt of more perfectly.
